Is it still possible to achieve a high Google page rank?

So now i can hear you asking, can you still achieve a high Google page rankings?
The answer is Yes!!  It will take some work, great content, and the right strategy to get there, but it is achievable and we do this for our clients every month.
So, you have just created your business a brand-new website or even your current website is a bit old and you are not getting the organic traffic you would like,  you are sat there thinking, I am only receiving a trickle of visitors to my website each month how do I improve that.
You are ready to turn on the tap, you are looking to generate a lot of traffic from Google and want improved rankings organically. The way you will achieve this is totally different to maybe what you imagined.
A great example I have seen is Ahrefs who provide a search engine optimisation tool to their users. They currently rank on page one of Google at the top for the competitive search term of the back-link checker.
To improve their Google rank and get high page listings was a trial and error process.  For example they had a link building strategy to that specific page, there were internal links feeding the page.  They created content but still could not reach the top spot.
percentage of traffic by Google search results

You must do research if you want to rank on Google page 1

If you take the time to research you will find the answer in your data & the data of your competitors. Once you do some in-depth research the reason will quickly became apparent as to why you have been unable to reach the top spot and this is exactly what Ahrefs did too.
Effectively what the data told them was everyone was, that users were looking for a FREE tool to provide back links immediately and the tool they were offering was a paid tool.
Users were looking for some immediate results without paying.  They wanted a free tool.

The solution to Ahrefs page 1 rankings problem

In fact, upon realising this, they made a FREE tool limited to 100 that provides information on a hundred back links.  Then they created the upgrade to the Full Paid tool.  After a few short weeks low and behold they reached the top.
Quite simply, they looked at how to give the user what they wanted, creating a good user experience and solved a problem.  On this occasion it was about links, content as much.  Above all it was about creating a solution to a problem and providing great user experience.
In 2020, Google tells you how to gain higher page rankings.   It explains how a newer website can compete with the larger companies, with high domain authority.  No longer is SEO about just building links.  It is about creating the right type of content.
You must put the user first. Provide the information that they want or no matter how much SEO you do, you will not rank high in Google if you do not provide a great user experience.

Improve your user's experience for improved Google page rank

It is time to create a better user experience, if you want to receive a higher Google position in 2020. If you put the user first, with what you are creating,  you will see amazing results.
Maybe you still don’t have other factors in place, but, don’t panic you can still rank high, because the way Google looks at rankings these days is the user experience and time a user spends on your page.
Basically you can fail even if you do all the basics right, if you don’t take user experience into account in 2020. If user’s leave your site after a few seconds, Google will see this as bad user experience and will stop ranking you in the top position’s.

Find the keywords for which you are ranking low that you are looking to improve on....

If you are looking to find out where you can make improvements we suggest using a tool like Ahrefs Site Explorer,

This tool is great and produces an in-depth report which can be filtered so you can see which you keywords you already rank for, but are not currently ranking in pole position. These are great to use as they show you there’s still room for improvement.

Although, there’s no real point in chasing rankings for low-value keywords, so choose one’s that are low competition but have a high search rate

Conclusion for Google page rankings

There are a few other factor’s which we have added below that can have an affect on your rankings, but the hints we having given you will get you well on your way to achieving higher Google page rankings in search engine results.

A few additional tips for better Google Page rankings

3 Strategies to greatly improve your content marketinghttps://ebkmarketing.co.uk/2020/04/30/content-marketing-strategy/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=content-marketing-strategy Thu, 30 Apr 2020 15:59:08 +0000https://ebkmarketing.co.uk/?page_id=10301

Producing content marketing content in the past

Now you have all bound to of heard of the common saying that “Content Is King”. But times are changing and it is not necessarily king any more but there is always a way to improve your chances when creating and publishing your content.

There has been many content marketing strategies deployed in the past, a marketer would be producing content in a mass scale and had sprinkles of the chosen keyword to rank for, some would take an old blog or post and just put it through a re-write and release it.

This could be done on such a massive scale and it was easy to rank. The tactic was rehash a blog release and collect ad revenue from the traffic.

Simple right?

Is content still king?

Well we have some news for you. Google as we all know is continuously looking at updating its algorithms, they are trying to make Google smarter and produce only search results that is highly relevant content to the end users. Each update is designed to be improve on the last, obvious i know, but this sometimes can have strange effects sometimes for the better other times for the worse.

BUT, what this actually means is ranking has become harder for most.  What Google actual does now rather than basically putting up random content stuffed with keywords which it did in the past.

Today, though Google is so much smarter and to be honest i think it is for the better, the algorithm has now levelled the playing field especially for smaller businesses.

What Google is looking for, is an understanding of search intent, So when a user is typing in for example “Quick recipes” in the past Google would have brought up all recipes not matter how long they took, today though you are likely to get 5 minute recipes. This is exactly what you are looking for, smarter and more relevant results means happier users and less time searching.

In other words, Google changed its focus when deciding how to rank content. Googles #1 priority is no longer content stuffed with keywords, it is actually the user’s experience and the how the results relate to what the user is searching for.

This is not a bad thing, Google helps us to understand what exactly what Google wants and how to rank high in search engine results.

User experience and content 2020

How to SUPERCHARGE your content to gain results

How do you produce content around user experience?

When creating content there should be a few steps that you should take every time, step one is to identify what problem are you going to resolve for an end user?  Basically you want to know what is the users “END GOAL”, so best practice at this stage is to think backwards, start at what they are looking to achieve and produce relevant content around that goal.

So, what do I mean?

Well for example and insurance company is not selling “insurance”, what they are actually doing is providing you with protection for your belongings, so they will be writing something like “Don’t Worry!! Blake’s coverage protects your belonging at home, work everywhere, we have got you covered”

What they are actually selling to you is “peace of mind”  They convey the feeling to you, that everything will be alright if this situation happens.

There is no keyword stuffing here, first they are reaching out to your emotions with “Don’t worry”, automatically being human most people get a feeling of worry, they take notice of whats coming next then its their product and then comes the benefit and selling of not insurance, but of “peace of mind”

The content they are going to create will be around emotion’s of a terrible situation so you can relate, they will then show benefits of how they will solve this problem.  Some companies are so good at doing this, that you will buy a product or service that, you will likely never even use and before the advert/content you never even wanted.

How many of you have actually done this?  They have told you a story and highly likely used great visuals and images which brings us on to point two

How to improve content using great images to tell a story

The saying goes “a picture can tell a thousand words” and quite simply this is true, so when telling a story use high quality images or video.  Studies have found, results with high ranking content contain great images and/or videos.

So, you know the problem you are going to solve and you are looking for images to compliment it.

For example you run an eCommerce store selling trainer’s, and you are producing content around the new trainers that are coming out.  A picture or a video of the trainers will not sell by themselves in most case’s, yes you will get a few impulse buyers but the masses will likely to just look and not purchase.

What they do to turn this around is convey a story of broken trainers, blistered feet, sweaty and smelly trainers and how you feel pain when wearing them.

We have all felt this and with suitable accompanying images to match, you are now connected on an emotional level with these trainers, you are shown embarrassing, tattered and broken trainers visually and let’s face it we all have that one pair of trainers that was ready for the bin years ago but we love them.

The scene goes :-

You are in the local park with your children, they are playing having fun and calling you to come play with them, scene goes to broken trainers, you rubbing your feet and saying you can’t due to being in pain. The image changes from happy children playing, to sadness on their faces and an overwhelming feeling of failure.

Next comes the product with cushioned soles, breathable air pockets and cool colours etc.

We all know what comes next, the scene has changed you are running, jumping playing games and full of enjoyment in your new super cool trainers.  So they sold you trainers right?

No what they actually sold you on, was spending quality time with your children, it wasn’t the trainers.

Keep with your topic

The idea of good copy writing is to make your user want to read the next line, so stay on topic.  They started to view the content for a reason.

If you had a headline of “10 simple ways to improve your house painting techniques” then write all ten ways around painting techniques, don’t start talking about plastering during the topic unless it is relevant to the message and solution you are conveying.

Keeping your topic laser focused, will greatly improve your chances of attracting only users who have an interest in painting techniques and they are more likely to read the whole article.

Think about adding a FREE downloadable pdf of the article something they can print and keep as a go to guide on this subject. If someone has reached a certain point in the content, if they are still with you they are clearly intrigued then they are more inclined to click on your download link, call to action (CTA) or buy button.

As with all content you should look at optimising it to get results, what are your end goal is important but stuff the content with keywords is not the way to go any more!!  Keep the content to providing a solution (Step1), Connect with your user on an emotional level and use images and video (Step2), Stay on topic

But just as importantly, there’s been a shift in what it means to be relevant. It’s no longer about being relevant to keyword phrases. It’s increasingly more about being relevant to what users are trying to accomplish and then addressing that in the content.

Coronavirus And Your Businesshttps://ebkmarketing.co.uk/2020/04/02/coronavirus-and-your-business/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=coronavirus-and-your-business https://ebkmarketing.co.uk/2020/04/02/coronavirus-and-your-business/#respondThu, 02 Apr 2020 01:02:57 +0000https://ebkmarketing.co.uk/?p=9022

Is your business taking an adbreak during this outbreak? Here is a few tips on how to advertise during coronavirus lockdown

So we are about 2 weeks into the Coronavirus outbreak. In reality for the majority of us it has had our lives clearly turned upside down.  For the first time in our generation UK, companies have been tasked with learning new ways of how best to operate over the foreseeable future.

Some businesses and industries have suffered, while others are being seen in a new light, like hand gel companies & toilet roll manufacturers to name a few. Little did they know 4 months ago that they would be in prime position for huge commercial success and to be able to both help society in a huge way. For them to have success all they need to do is keep delivering an increased supply.

For the few that are having success. Others however are facing unprecedented shortages in demand. Some businesses are reaching the point already where their businesses are no longer viable.  Some of these business rely on foot traffic and people like conferences, shops, restaurants and many others until strict social distancing guidelines are lifted.

The simple fact is though, that in both cases, companies face major decisions and must plan on what is the correct way that they should market their products. Some are worried that maybe they should not be marketing at all during a time of complete economic upheaval and they are unsure how long this will last. The truth is none of us do, but with great uncertainty you also have an opportunity to build trust in your business in the long term.

As you will realise there is many millions of companies and some are doing it right and some are doing it wrong.

ASOS got bad feedback off $17 dollar face mask adverts, they were likely to off been set up in advance due to a release back in late 2019.  Unfortunately when the pandemic hit their ads were still running and it was seen as poor planning and received many complaints through various platforms.  The product was quickly removed and the adverts put on stop.

Brew dog who was founded by James Watt and Martin Dickie based in Ellon, Scotland, had a different approach after being in the brewing alcohol and pub sector since 2007  they decided to take action and start making Hand Sanitiser due to the severe lack of products available on the shelf and was in huge demand from the masses.  Some praised the move to change while other sections were very unhappy with the large branding and described the move as totally self serving.

With April approaching and Easter just around the corner Cadbury’s had a whole marketing campaign and advert set up, but due to the circumstances was forced to pull this rather heartwarming and cute Easter advert.

Grand parents have always performed a huge role when it comes to grand kids with many looking after the children so that parents can go to work.

Now the country must battle with the fact that a whole part of normal life has had to change.  Due to the elderly being in an extremely dangerous situation children should not risk visiting their grand parents for the foreseeable future originally stated for 3 months but is likely to be a lot longer.  The reason that it was no longer suitable is down to the Social distancing rules placed on us, so it would be seen that it  would not be promoting the right behaviour.

In the 40-second advert,  Shows a grandfather  hiding various Easter eggs made by Cadbury’s around his home, playing the hunt the Easter Egg challenge that we have all played and loved. He hides one for each of the grand kids in readiness for the visit from his grandchildren. When the kids come in there is hunting while a father and son have a nice em brass

Watch the heartfelt video above.

“Our TV ad was intended to invoke generosity and happiness in the run-up to Easter.  However, due to current government guidance on social distancing, we recognise it is no longer appropriate to encourage close physical contact amongst families”

pay per click (PPC) marketing

A Clever Move Right Now Is Actually Pay-Per-Click (PPC)

So let’s look at the facts:

There is more people at home and on their phones. Around 55% of companies have stopped their ad campaigns, with another 60% cutting them in half of their normal ad spend.

So it’s a great opportunity to actually make savings on the cost per click marketing module. You are actually going to gain an unfair competitive advantage by continuing to promote. Devastating Coronavirus and what it means for your business & marketinghttps://ebkmarketing.co.uk/2020/03/31/what-coronavirus-means-for-your-business-marketing/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=what-coronavirus-means-for-your-business-marketing https://ebkmarketing.co.uk/2020/03/31/what-coronavirus-means-for-your-business-marketing/#respondTue, 31 Mar 2020 17:39:55 +0000http://ebkmarketing.co.uk/?p=8981

Marketing during the Coronavirus and your companies message is important. STAFF WELFARE should be first priority though according to a recent consumer report.

Your brand is expected to play an important supporting role during this crisis, to help our society and the vulnerable.

Today we are living in an unprecedented situation. The whole world is dealing with a different challenge – the Covid-19 outbreak.

With over 3 Billion people worldwide being told to stay at home, the economy landscape has drastically changed.

As business these are worrying times and you probably are thinking what is your next step.

You are probably wondering what is the consumer thinking? Well it turns out the majority of consumers, believe that brands should continue with their marketing efforts.

Although it goes without saying that you must be wary of the tone and messaging, is using and how you communicate will really show your company values.

Already some companies have been slated, and some praised.

How you act and the voice of your company during these important times will have an effect on your business when it is all over.

A recent survey of  35,000+ global consumers undertaken by Kantar found that:

  • 8% thought brands should avoid advertising
  • 78% of consumers are thought to believe brands should be helping them through their daily struggles
  • 75% Are saying that brands should be communicating what they are doing through the crisis, what they are doing changes in business are they still running etc
  • 74% Believe that companies should not be exploiting the pandemic situation

So now the question is, how should you market?

What is expected of you from the consumer?

Now one thing to be careful of and be mindful of is the main tone and message, that you are conveying.

Realistically it should be of a reassuring tone. You need to show a calmness and take time, to understand what you and everyone around you is going through.

Yes at this moment don’t get me wrong things are definitely uncertain but you should offer a positive outcome and communicate your brand values.

  • 50% also think brands should talk as they have always have done, while
  • 50% think companies should talk about their own brand in a carefree and light way.
  • Only 41% think brands should not be using a humorous tone.

There is a need for companies and brands to be aware that their is a fine line that needs to be adhered to.

Online research data has shown that brands are using varying methods during the Coronavirus epidemic to achieve this, for example:-

Ikea’s is communicating to their consumers the importance of home

Nike’s message on the other hand convey’s around the need to stay home and indoors, as their homepage message states ” Play Inside, Play For The World” and through their current app they are seen to promote exercises that can be done at home.

Conveying these messages are seen as supportive of the governments efforts and are mirroring their message as well as the health organisations.

Many brands are offering special privileges to NHS staff, careers and other front-line workers which is commendable and personally I think is right thing to do.

They have cleverly achieved this while staying true to their own brands message and the current values they have always been know for.

“There is a need to talk about brands, but to do so in a way that supports governments and consumers and is not exploitative.”

Rosie Hawkins Chief Innovation Officer

Kandar Insights.

Solidarity for the world

Some businesses efforts and actions have received mixed results or backlash from the consumer for example:-

Back in 2019 ASOS  launched its chain mail face masks. Due to the design they were already being made fun of.

At the time of of the original launch they tweeted saying:

“Festival season/flu season/dealing with close-talkers, meet your fave new year-round piece.”

Now the mistake was face masks have been the source of a lot of strife and a lot of misinformation has been spread about them during the Coronavirus. Companies like to Facebook and Google banned ads recently for face masks, especially with huge prices being placed on them.

But reports started coming out of Twitter recently stating consumers have been complaining about ads they’re seeing for the face masks across platforms. Now considering the pandemic which is going on silver or gold face masks being sold for a price of $17 was clearly going to rub the public up the wrong way.

Yes, don’t get me wrong the ads were likely to of been automated way in advance of the pandemic. They were stopped and the product removed from the ASOS website in response to the backlash.

For ASOS the timing was just off and they suffered from the circumstances.

Asos Chain Mail Face Mask

BrewDog’s hand sanitiser launch also didn’t quite get the response it wanted for it efforts in changing from producing beer to hand sanitiser, during this Coronavirus pandemic period.  YES, while many applauded their latest move, there was some heavy criticism from others.

The way they handled the branding aspect of it, led a lot of people to see this as not helping the masses but more as a self-serving tactic which has backfired on them with some consumers.  Sports Direct, Virgin and Weatherspoon’s are a number of other companies who have been under the spotlight for actions they have taken, which has damaged their brands appearance.

When the whole country is coming together and helping each other, supporting and realising that this is not the staffs fault, these companies have acted in a way that has enraged people countrywide. By not standing by their employees and thinking of money before staff welfare. They are likely to be seeing repercussions when things come back to normal.

The message everyone is looking for and is expecting to see and the all brands for to show is solidarity and not exploitation of staff and the masses.

The consumer report states that:-

  • 80% believe employee health is the number 1  key priority for companies,
  • 2/3 of the community believe during these difficult times, flexible working should be a priority.
  • 45% of consumers believe that it is important want to see companies putting in place  protection plans that protect the supply of services or products.
  • 40% want to see more from companies and believe they should be doing all they can such as making donations of products, such as hand sanitisers or face masks to KEY WORKERS & NHS STAFF.
  • 30% of consumers stated they want to see brands offering more discounts and promotions.
  • 19% believe that companies who are able to set up call centres to help with customer queries should be doing so.

This shows that there is an understanding from the consumer about the difficult & unprecedented times business find themselves in.

Remember we are all in this together

Marketing for the future

Marketing for the future

Now is the time not to panic, now is the time to remember that in the 2008/09 financial crash that strong businesses were able to make a full recovery.

On the whole they made an approximate 8-10% faster recovery than the average business.  What you do today really will impact on how your future pans out when this crisis is over.

Marketing Week & Econsultancy recently performed a survey of over 900 marketers who revealed that there are thousands of companies who have stopped their marketing ad campaigns.  Approximately 55% have postponed or are taking steps to review their current ad campaigns. On top of this around 60% of businesses are cutting or reviewing budgets.

They also reported from a theoretical company with real life data that cutting your ad campaigns off 100% during this time would result in a loss of approximately 13% in sales. Where as a 50% reduction would result in just a 1% loss.

I think the main thing here to realise is that before making rash decisions do some figures and work out some financial models with the data that you still have coming in.

Remember people are still home, they will still purchase and they are looking for ways for the world to continue, it really is time to plan for tomorrow by being wise today.

“Brand health becomes vulnerable when companies stop advertising, If they do this for longer than six months it destroys both short- and long-term health.”

Jane Ostler

Global Head Of Media, Kantar Insights

Bumpy Ride

What we say to our clients is get ready to ride this out a bit, don’t make too many snap judgements. Provide them with new content, show how your brand is trying to make a difference to those around them.

I think most importantly this is the time to show some humility, solidarity but instil some fun.  A lot of people are coupe’d up inside worried and could do with something to look forward too in the future.

Try to become a light bringer to all your followers, customers and potential customers as well as neighbours, friends and family.

Together we will come out of this stronger and more prepared for the journey that lies ahead.

If you look at what has happened during the dotcom crash in 2000 and the banking crisis in 2008 then there was a lot of people who decided to double down, also there is many others did not.

During an economic downturn, you will see that the case is, that you will have far less competition. On the plus side this means it is easier and can be faster to gain results and sales.

You can discuss deals and in some cases, be able to negotiate better deals, including potential reduction in pay-per-click advertising.

There is one way to think of this and being realistic out of all the companies out there, you can be rest assured that there is an increased debt that people and businesses are taking on. Simply put if the market keeps going down, many companies will struggle to pay off their debt.

Unfortunately This means a lot of companies will either go bankrupt, will be bought out, or will just about struggle through via government grants and for the larger companies huge bailouts.

With the government offering companies to help subsidise wage bills by 80%, this act may be able to cut costs enough to pay their bills, but for most, it will be too late.

Again, this is sad for a lot of companies but it just means their is less competition for you.

Most don’t have to joys of being lucky enough to be sitting on piles of readily available cash, during the recession. For others they will see this an an opportunity and realise this is the best time to buy out other companies. You will see media companies are normally one that get sold during this time.

Why you ask? well its simple, the more people who’s eyeballs you control, the more power you will hold in the future.

So i think this should tell you that YES!!

You should still be marketing but it needs to be done in a correct manner.

DON’T profit off the misery of other.

DON’T be buying up all the supplies like some and selling them on Ebay and other platforms for 4, 5, 10 times the price in some cases.

Do things the right way and you will benefit in the long term, be in touch via social media and your other marketing channels, realise that by controlling eyeballs, keeping in touch and spreading useful messages to the world that, it gives you the ability to sell anything you want in the future.

How SEO Can Help Your Business

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) helps business owners by creating user friendly mobile responsive fast, websites that are able to rank high in search engines such as Google, Bing & Yahoo.

What SEO does, is enable a business to receive more qualified and targeted potential customers to their sites increasing conversion rates due to attracting targeted users, who are looking for your product or service at that exact time.

This has a drastic, positive effect on improving your return on investment. Unlike pay-per-click (ppc) which once a campaign is turned off you no longer receive leads, Search Engine Optimisation(SEO) will continue to bring you qualified leads.

What Is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Before we discuss how search engine optimisation(SEO) can help your business, we will briefly discuss what search engine optimisation is. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation, which is the process that is taken to increase the quantity and quality of traffic to a specified website through organic search engine results (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc).

What Goes Into Seo

To understand the real meaning of SEO, let us break that definition down right and look at the parts:

Quality of traffic. You can attract all the visitors in the world, but if they truly are visiting a site because Google informs them you’re a resource for Apple computers when really you’re a farmer selling apples, that isn’t quality traffic. Instead you want to attract visitors that are genuinely interested in products that you give. As soon as you have the right folks clicking through from those search engine results pages (SERPs), more traffic is significantly better.

Organic outcomes.  Adverts are seen and can make up a significant portion of many search engine results and are normally shown first at the top of the page. Organic traffic is any traffic that you don’t have to pay for.

How Seo Functions

You may possibly think about a search engine as a website you visit to type (or speak) a question to a box and Google, Yahoo!, Bing, or whatever search engine you are using magically replies with a long listing of links to webpages that may potentially answer your own question. That’s genuine. But have you ever thought what exactly behind those magical lists of links?

Here Is How Google & Serps Work

Google (or any search engine you are using) has a crawler that fades and gathers information about all the content they can discover online. The crawlers bring all those 1s and 0s back to the search engine to create an indicator. That indicator is then fed through an algorithm that tries to match all that data together along with your query.

There are a great deal of factors that enter a search engine’s algorithm.

That’s all of the SE (search engine) is the actual platform and crawler of search engine optimisation.

The O part of SEO–optimisation–is really where the men and women who write all that articles and put it on their web sites are gussying that articles and the internet sites up therefore search engines will soon be able to understand what they’re seeing, and the users who arrive via search will enjoy what they see.

Optimisation can take many forms. It’s everything from making certain the title tags and meta descriptions are both informative and the perfect length to pointing internal links at pages you are pleased with.

How we sustained existing customers, grew conversions and lowered costs with a powerful SEO strategy and audit.!”

Their Problem

Our client, a commercial cleaning company in our community, previously hired another Search Engine Optimisation specialist but with no real search engine optimisation strategy in place to grow bookings and appointments.

Additional Problems

  • Did not Know Where their Next Lead /Appointment Was Coming From

  • Unable To Hire & Train New Staff

The Solution - Focus On What Works & Change What Doesn't

Our team’s experience has enabled many businesses to thrive against the competition, even up against franchises. Before we started implementing optimisations to the website, we audit the existing website to detail the work needed to improve traffic and conversions.

Our road map establishes the foundations needed to grow their website traffic with all the essentials such as Google My Business page setup, Schema Implementation and Keyword Research. Once the essentials to our road map were implemented, we cleaned the content and removed the unnecessary elements to improve site speed and user experience as we proactively reviewed the performance each month to our updates, & actively modify.

For keywords that were under performing and couldn’t be helped with improved copy, we simply removed them. Once we started to gain traffic from specific keywords and search strings, we then started to expand the list of targeted keywords to attract new customers, and build awareness to pre existing clients.

Typical overview of our standard SEO campaign process.

Seo Onboarding Process

At the beginning of every one of our new client’s campaigns, we typically like to have an in-depth discussion with our partners concerning the nature of your business, your campaign goals, the target market, and other relevant details.

At this point, we like our client partners to fill out our intake form for additional information, so that there is no miscommunication.

Once we have receipt of the completed intake form, we are ready to start the searxch engine marketing Keyword Research and Approval phase.

Once you have selected your campaign keywords (quantity of keywords is depends on your chosen SEO service) based off our recommendations to you. We will proceed to conduct a SEO Structural Site Audit (On-Page), and writing, editing, and auditing the Meta Data and Web Copy for your target pages.

All of the content will be consolidated into the Meta Data and Content Optimisation Report and will be reviewed for feedback. At this stage there maybe a number of revisions that may be applied to further tailor the content to the your specific tastes, while adhering to industry standard practices for SEO.

Once the content has been approved and is finalised, we can move on to the On-Page Implementation and optimisation phase. During this phase we will roll out the recommendations and new content as we have outlined in the Meta Data and Content Optimisation Report.

Once we have completed the Implementation phase, we are  then ready to proceed to the Off-Page execution phase, which entails building backlinks to build the client site’s authority and rankings, using a proven methodology that is both safe and effective.

The fulfillment of this phase officially concludes Month 1 of the campaign.

Upon completion of every campaign, we send our partners an Executive Report. We then discuss the campaign’s performance highlights, recommendations for further enhancing the campaign, planning for month 2, and other important considerations.

Month 2 and onwards primarily consists of Link Building campaigns to systematically build up the client site’s rankings in the search engine results.

Link building for Seo

Link building is one of the most important, challenging and frustrating aspects of search engine optimisation that you can undertake. Likewise it is also one of the most essential processes of Seo. Research poll’s from companies including Moz, Search Metrics as well as other huge names in search engine optimisation show that most importantly, entrepreneurs view hyperlinks  the most important ranking factor. You can call it an internet popularity contest.

Four Links to incorporate

Below, we've recorded the four kinds of links you should really be building in 2020, from editorial links to recommendations from some other brands. We've also clarified how you can acquire these links for your website to enhance its organic search visibility and build stable rankings.

Whether you are just beginning to build links to get a new job or need to upgrade your own web link building strategy for 2020, incorporate these high quality links to your website’s link portfolio this season and you’re going to notice a measurable progress in its own rankings, traffic and sales.

Get mentions in the newspaper and mainstream media sites

For most digital marketers, links from top quality papers such as The Times and also perhaps the Wall Street Journal would be the gold standard of one way links. Google values hyperlinks from papers for several reasons:

Most papers have websites which date back to the 1990s with tens of thousands of connections, giving their domains high page rank and huge ability within Google’s index.

Newspapers have strict editorial procedures, which forbid spam links and very low quality outbound links from looking inside their content.

Clients are likely to read, share and answer newspaper content, giving their links value outside an SEO perspective and which makes them a value source of direct traffic.

The key to earning newspaper links in 2020 could be the exact same because it was this past season, or perhaps the season before that: take action news worthy.

Be creative and unconventional

From creative promotions to unconventional products, many SEO-focused organisations make their way into papers by creating or doing things that are interesting. Other folks ride an existing wave to draw attention by doing the perfect thing at the right time.

If you run a product-based firm, 1 way to do this is to release a novelty product which turns right into an existing event.

After American real estate tycoon Donald Trump announced his conduct for the 2016 Presidential Election, lingerie and costume site Yandy latched on the enormous wave of marketing by selling”sexy” donald-trump costumes.

The costume (complete with a connection back to the manufacturer) made its way into normally significant paper web sites like CNBC, admired magazines such as Time and hundreds of popular news sites.

Discuss an SEO success narrative. Yandy, which can be a small lingerie shop that could rarely, if ever turn it into those publications alone virtues as a website, was rewarded with favorable connections and a large amount of traffic by riding the wave donald-trump generated with his campaign.

Yet another way to attract the eye of social media is to develop viral publicity in your goods.

From an search engine optimisation perspective, the newspaper links it earned would have cost tens and thousands of pounds to create a manual outreach program.

The how with that is simple: do a thing that people want to discuss. Newspapers are not at all opposed to publishing commercial content, provided that it’s some readers wish to share and comment on. In the process, they’ll gladly reward you with invaluable one way links.

Editorial links from local and niche-focused bloggers. If links from newspapers are the gold standard of search engine optimisation, links from niche blogs are best thought of as sterling silver. Building links from significant, popular blogs on your niche is really a terrific way to fortify your web site’s traffic when forcing important , motivated traffic.

Like newspapers, blogs draw a lot of links in their own, providing them with relatively top PageRank and strong link profiles. Even better, since blogs are typically handled by one person (or a small team of men and women ), it’s far simpler to obtain attention than it is the editor of a large paper.

Post links are links on the content of a pole, like that one to your regional search engine optimization guide. As they appear naturally, in context, as a portion of a page’s content, they have serious value not just from an SEO perspective, however as drivers of traffic for the site.

Get editorial links from other bloggers

When it comes to earning editorial links from bloggers, there are several strategies

Which You Can utilize:

Do it the old fashioned manner, through email outreach and relationship creation with bloggers in your specialty. Publish amazing content and get in touch via Twitter, LinkedIn or other internet sites to invite bloggers to connect back for you.

Construct an influencer listing of bloggers such as Groove, also email them whenever you get a new piece of content that’s worth linking to. The key for the strategy, as with the paper technique above will be to be worth referring to .

Few bloggers is going to be prepared to relate to your own content when it’s only commercial and designed to help people, but to sell to them. Many will probably be glad to relate to some content when it’s of use, engaging and interesting enough to please your own readers.

Recommendations from other businesses

Links from other companies, especially businesses within your industry, are a few of the most valuable links you’ll be able to earn. If you have existing business relationships, they are also some of the simplest inbound-links to construct.

Many times, all it takes to build an inbound link to your business in one of your spouses is a very simple email. With a few emails, you might earn a link or two out of valuable small business sites, usually on pages that are only a couple steps from the site and that carry a reasonable amount of Page Rank.

Yet another excellent way to try so would be to offer to provide a testimonial for the suppliers. In the event that it’s possible to write a few nice words regarding their service, they’ll often include your testimonial, detailed with a wonderful link to your site, on their site.

That is clearly a large SEO advantage – a site link from a reputable firm on your own industry. And it’s really a connection you get by offering mutual price, since you are providing a testimonial which aids the supplier to improve their credibility and conversions.

By line writing

Get a by-line on high value resources

Bylined hyperlinks on applicable, high-value publications

Nearly every industry has trade books directed at professionals and entrepreneurs, from digital promotion to manufacturing. For those who have a talent for writing, it is possible to build powerful links by causing such publications being a professional.

For example, from the electronic marketing industry, websites such as Search Engine Journal and Search Engine Land encourage experts to reach out and donate. Doing this is just a win win for them and the contributor — the book gets free material and the contributor becomes free publicity.

In an search engine optimisation perspective, is in reality a triple win, as you’ll generate a popular inbound link on your article’s by line after you’re published. Although most publications will only offer your name or your brand name as a selection of anchor text, a bylined link still carried a excellent deal of significance.

Certainly one of the biggest advantages of the bylined website link building plan is that all printed bit helps you not from an SEO perspective, but from the direct marketing and advertising perspective. A number of the people that read your bit will probably come to your website and could even become clients.

Do you use any of the mentioned idea’s above? are you currently really building?

It’s 2019, and the”rules of link building” that lots of digital marketers once used either no longer apply or could earnestly damage your website. If you should be interested in improving your rankings and increasing your search engine visibility in 2020, try to build any of the four kinds of links above.

Don’t have the time to construct links by yourself? If you’d rather automate the whole process to build links for the small business, take to our link construction service

Ensure that the keywords you select fit effortlessly in your writing, though, and so are always being used within circumstance. Do not over use and stuff content with too many SEO keywords. Try to concentrate on two or three per blog. Make sure that these words or close to your niche and go for low competition keywords especially at the beginning.

Try using Google Trends and Keywords Everywhere Tool in ad-words are free tools that will provide you all of the data you will need to perfect keywords.

Keyword placement matters

4. Keyword placement is also a very important process, that must not be ignored.

Keywords can be of use on their own but to use them most effectively when precisely found inside the text. The main places where your keywords should be placed for optimum results.

The first is the name of the article or headline, try to create something catchy that also integrates your main a keyword of choice for SEO purposes.

The second place that you should be looking to add keywords to is within the various different sub-headers and obviously the fundamental body text.

The third (and most significant ) are within the URL itself. Your own URLs needs to have a breadcrumbs trail and feature readable signs of their content within your blog. Avoid numbers or arbitrary strings of text on your URLs.

Create mobile friendly content

5. You must take care when creating content to ensure that your content is mobile-friendly.

Increasingly now the most popular way that a user read your blogs & news is when commuting and travelling, watching television or lying down chilling out in bed . What this actually mean’s is that they are generally going to be using their mobile phones.

If your blog isn’t mobile-optimised, what this really means is bad news for your SEO.

The majority of Google search will occur on a mobile phone. Google simply won’t display your site in mobile search results if it isn’t mobile-optimised.

If your content is of poor optimisation then the chances of a follower returning to a website on a laptop, tablet or computer to properly view the content is slim to none. Be sure to make use of the mobile-friendly test tool to assess Google search results. You can also read the free guide on building mobile-friendly websites for beginners.

Don't write boring blogs and articles

6. Write with passion, what we mean is don’t write boring articles or blogs. Be informative, as we stated earlier your website content should be ideally around 2000 words. What you must still keep in mind is be skeptical of making it don’t spend too much time, being too technical as it can become tedious to read.

It is good practice to break up your text with a variety of images, info graphics or videos. Formatting the content in a way which is proven to be gratifying to internet consumers will pay huge dividends in the long run. This means add sub-headings to your articles, write in short paragraphs, bold important points, use bullet points & lists as well they are a great way to give lots of information in a greatly designed way.

If your reader has the ability to be able to scan through your post fast and they are able to find the information they are looking for, then the chances are that they will be most likely to review it as a resource of information in the future.

Another huge benefit of including videos, images, info-graphics or even graphs and tables that are related to your subject and business with search engine optimisation. You are able to is create alt-text for each image, this will help enrich your ranking overall especially if people are looking for a picture’s or video content.

A way to contact you is super important

7. Ensure that you can be contacted easily. Your contact details or a way to contact you should be contained on every page of your blog -There are various ways to do this via a phone number, email or contact form at a minimum.

Don’t forget this, that is not an individual weblog – it is your business blog. You need to be around to prospective clients and customers.

What you must also realise, is that you must be specific about who you are and what your blog stands for.

Ensure that you have your business name on each of your landing pages of your website. Doing this builds consistency and make sure you do the same with your blog posts.

In reality it can be rather straight forward to use a few simple techniques and some free or low cost internet tools to improve your SEO business website for little to no cost.

What you must do though is show dedication and spend the time needed to manage and attempt a successful blog for your business. Nonetheless, if you follow these few simple  recommendations, then you will achieve improved results and at a better and faster rate.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is a lot simpler to master and gain a good understanding of the processes than many individuals think. If you use this strategy as your main in the long term and as time passes it will probably function as the biggest source of traffic to your business & blog website.

Search Engine Optimisation advice for small businesses & start ups, looking to improve their organic presence for improved traffic & higher Google rankings

How to improve the seo of your business website

This is a hard-hitting guide that gives you the information you need to make the adjustments to your site right away to help improve your search rankings and benefit from the increase in organic search traffic.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is simply the act of manipulating the pages of your website to be easily accessible by search engine spiders so they can be easily spidered and indexed.

A spider is a robot that search engines use to check millions of web pages very quickly and sort them by relevance. A page is indexed when it is spidered and deemed appropriate content to be placed in the search engines results for people to click on.

The art and science of understanding how search engines identify pages that are relevant to a query made by a visitor and designing marketing strategies based on this is called search engine optimization.

Search engines offer the most cost effective mechanism to acquire ‘real’ and ‘live’ business leads. It is found that in most cases, search engine optimization delivers a better ROI than other forms such as online advertisements, e-mail marketing and newsletters, affiliate and pay per click advertising, and digital campaigns and promotions.

What On Earth Is An Algorithm?

Each search engine has something called an algorithm which is the formula that each search engine uses to evaluate web pages and determine their relevance and value when crawling them for possible inclusion in their search engine. A crawler is the robot that browses all of these pages for the search engine.

GOOGLE Algorithm Is Key

Google has a comprehensive and highly developed technology, a straightforward interface and a wide-ranging array of search tools which enable the users to easily access a variety of information online.

Google users can browse the web and find information in various languages, retrieve maps, stock quotes and read news, search for a long lost friend using the phone Book listings available on Google for all of US cities and basically surf the 3 billion odd web pages on the internet!

Google boasts of having world’s largest archive of Usenet messages, dating all the way back to 1981. Google’s technology can be accessed from any conventional desktop PC as well as from various wireless platforms such as WAP and i-mode phones, handheld devices and other such Internet equipped gadgets.

Back Links Are Considered Popularity Votes

Quintessentially, Google calculates the importance of a page by the number of such „votes‟ it receives. Not only that, Google also assesses the importance of the pages that are involved in the voting process.

Consequently, pages that are themselves ahead in ranking and are important in that way also help to make other pages important.

One thing to note here is that Google’s technology does not involve human intervention in anyway and uses the inherent intelligence of the internet and its resources to determine the ranking and importance of any page.

Hypertext-Matching Analysis

Unlike its conventional counterparts, Google is a search engine which is hypertext-based. This means that it analyzes all the content on each web page and factors in fonts, subdivisions, and the exact positions of all terms on the page. Not only that, Google also evaluates the content of its nearest web pages. This

policy of not disregarding any subject matter pays off in the end and enables Google to return results that are closest to user queries.

Google has a very simple 3-step procedure in handling a query submitted in its search box:

  1. When the query is submitted and the enter key is pressed, the web server sends the query to the index servers. Index server is exactly what its name suggests. It consists of an index much like the index of a book which displays where is the particular page containing the queried term is located in the entire book.
  1. After this, the query proceeds to the doc servers, and these servers actually retrieve the stored documents. Page descriptions or ‘snippets’ are then generated to suitably describe each search result.
  1. These results are then returned to the user in less than one second! (Normally.)

Approximately once a month, Google updates their index information for each of the web pages that they have crawled. The period during the update is known as the Google dance.

[sr-partner-os-audit id=4]

This Seo site audit will highlight the issues with processes that you have in relation to the technical side of your website, as well as providing useful information on how to solve.

Do You Know The GOOGLE Dance?

The Algorithm Shuffle

Because of the nature of the information, the calculations need to be performed about 40 times and, because the index is so large, the calculations take several days to complete. During this period, the search results fluctuate; sometimes minute-by minute. It is because of these fluctuations that the term, Google Dance, was coined. The dance usually takes place sometime during the last third of each month.

GOOGLE Dance Tool

It not only searches the titles and descriptions of the websites, but searches the entire content of sites within a related category, which ultimately delivers a comprehensive search to the users. Google also has a fully functional web directory which categorizes all the searches in order.

Submitting your URL to Google

Google is primarily a fully-automatic search engine with no human-intervention involved in the search process. It utilizes robots known as „spiders‟ to crawl the web on a regular basis for new updates and new websites to be included in the Google Index. This robot software follows hyperlinks from site to site.

Google does not require that you should submit your URL to its database for inclusion in the index, as it is done anyway automatically by the „spiders‟. However, manual submission of URL can be done by going to the Google website and clicking the related link. One important thing here is that Google does not accept payment of any sort for site submissions. Also, submitting your site through the Google website does not guarantee you’ll be listed in the index.

Sometimes, a webmaster might program the server in such a way that it returns different content to Google than it returns to regular users, which is often done to misrepresent search engine rankings. This process is referred to as cloaking as it conceals the actual website and returns distorted web pages to search engines crawling the site. This can mislead users about what they’ll find when they click on a search result. Google highly disapproves of any such practice and might place a ban on the website which is found guilty of cloaking.

Google Guidelines

Here are some of the important tips and tricks that can be employed while dealing with Google.

  • A website should have crystal clear hierarchy and links and should preferably be easy to navigate.
  • A site map is required to help the users go around your site and in case the site map has more than 100 links, then it is advisable to break it into several pages to avoid clutter.
  • Come up with essential and precise keywords and make sure that your website features relevant and informative content.
  • The Google crawler will not recognize text hidden in the images, so when describing important names, keywords or links; stick with plain text.
  • The TITLE and ALT tags should be descriptive and accurate and the website should have no broken links or incorrect HTML.
  • Dynamic pages (the URL consisting of a „?‟ character) should be kept to a minimum as not every search engine spider is able to crawl them.
  • The robots.txt file on your web server should be current and should not block the Googlebot crawler. This file tells crawlers which directories can or cannot be crawled.

    • When making a site, do not cheat your users, i.e. those people who will surf your website. Do not provide them with irrelevant content or present them with any fraudulent schemes.
    • Avoid tricks or link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking.
  • Do not employ hidden texts or hidden links.
  • Google frowns upon websites using cloaking technique. Hence, it is advisable to avoid that.
  • Automated queries should not be sent to Google.
  • Avoid stuffing pages with irrelevant words and content. Also don’t create multiple pages, sub-domains, or domains with significantly duplicate content.
  • Avoid ‘doorway’ pages created just for search engines or other ‘cookie cutter’ approaches such as affiliate programs with hardly any original content.

Crawler/Spider Considerations

Also, consider technical factors. If a site has a slow connection, it might time-out for the crawler. Very complex pages, too, may time out before the crawler can harvest the text.

If you have a hierarchy of directories at your site, put the most important information high, not deep. Some search engines will presume that the higher you placed the information, the more important it is. And crawlers may not venture deeper than three or four or five directory levels.

Above all remember the obvious – full-text search engines such index text. You may well be tempted to use fancy and expensive design techniques that either block search engine crawlers or leave your pages with very little plain text that can be indexed. Don’t fall prey to that temptation.

Ranking Rules Of Thumb

The simple rule of thumb is that content counts, and that content near the top of a page counts for more than content at the end. In particular, the HTML title and the first couple lines of text are the most important part of your pages. If the words and phrases

that match a query happen to appear in the HTML title or first couple lines of text of one of your pages, chances are very good that that page will appear high in the list of search results.

A crawler/spider search engine can base its ranking on both static factors (a computation of the value of page independent of any particular query) and query-dependent factors.

  • Long pages, which are rich in meaningful text (not randomly generated letters and words).
  • Pages that serve as good hubs, with lots of links to pages that that have related content (topic similarity, rather than random meaningless links, such as those generated by link exchange programs or intended to generate a false impression of ‘popularity’).
  • The connectivity of pages, including not just how many links there are to a page but where the links come from: the number of distinct domains and the ‘quality’ ranking of those particular sites. This is calculated for the site and also for individual pages. A site or a page is ‘good’ if many pages at many different sites point to it, and especially if many ‘good’ sites point to it in return.
  • The level of the directory in which the page is found. Higher is considered more important. If a page is buried too deep, the crawler simply won’t go that far and will never find it.

These static factors are recomputed about once a week, and new good pages slowly percolate upward in the rankings. Note that there are advantages to having a simple address and sticking to it, so others can build links to it, and so you know that it’s in the index

Query-Dependent Factors

    • The HTML title.
    • The first lines of text.
    • Query words and phrases appearing early in a page rather than late.
  • Meta tags, which are treated as ordinary words in the text, but like words that appear early in the text (unless the meta tags are patently unrelated to the content on the page itself, in which case the page will be penalized)
  • Words mentioned in the ‘anchor’ text associated with hyperlinks to your pages. (E.g., if lots of good sites link to your site with anchor text ‘breast cancer’ and the query is ‘breast cancer,’ chances are good that you will appear high in the list of matches.)

Blanket Policy On Doorway Pages And Cloaking

Many search engines are opposed to doorway pages and cloaking. They consider doorway and cloaked pages to be spam and encourage people to use other avenues to increase the relevancy of their pages. We’ll talk about doorway pages and cloaking a bit later.

Meta Tags (Ask.Com As An Example)

Though Meta tags are indexed and considered to be  regular text, Ask.com claims it doesn’t give them priority over HTML titles and other text. Though you should use meta tags in all your pages, some webmasters claim their doorway pages for Ask.com rank better when they don’t

use them. If you do use Meta tags, make your description tag no more than 160 characters and your keywords tag no more than 8 keywords or phrases.

Keywords In The URL And File Names

It’s generally believed that Google.com gives some weight to keywords in filenames and URL names. If you’re creating a file, try to name it with keywords.

Keywords In The ALT Tags

Google.com indexes ALT tags, so if you use images on your site, make sure to add them. ALT tags should contain more than the image’s description. They should include keywords, especially if the image is at the top of the page. ALT tags are explained later.

Page Length

There’s been some debate about how long doorway pages for Google should be. Some webmasters say short pages rank higher, while others   argue that long pages are the way to go. According to Google’s help section, it prefers long and informative pages. We’ve found that pages with 500-1000 words are most likely to rank well but this is not to say that 2000 or 5000 articles aren’t good. This is just to showcase the minimum word count.

Frame Support

Google has the ability to index frames, but it sometimes indexes and links to pages intended only as navigation. To keep this from happening to you, submit a frame-free site map containing the pages that you want indexed. You may also want to include a ‘robots.txt’ file to prohibit Google from indexing certain pages.

What Your Website Absolutely Needs

This section will go over some of the most important elements that a page needs to get high search engine rankings. Make sure that you go through this while reading each section very carefully as each of these can have a dramatic impact on the rankings that your website will ultimately achieve. Don’t focus solely on the home page, keywords and titles.

The first step to sales when customers visit your site is for them to find the products they were looking for. Of course, search engine optimization and better rankings can’t keep your customer on your site or make them buy.

The customer has visited your site, now ensure that he gets an interest in your products or services and stays around. Motivate him to buy the product by providing clear and unambiguous information.

Thus if you happen to sell more than one product or service, provide all necessary information about this. By providing suitable and easily visible links, the customer can navigate to these pages and get the details.

Understanding Your Target Customer

If you design a website you think will attract clients, but you don’t really know who your customers are and what they want to buy, it is unlikely you will make much money.

The Website business is an extension or replacement for a standard storefront. You can send email to your existing clients and ask them to complete a survey or even while they are browsing your website. Ask them about their choices. Why do they like your products? Do you offer discount prices or coupons? Are your prices consistently lower than others? Is your shipping price cheaper? Do you respond faster to client questions? Are your product descriptions better?

Your return policies and guarantees better than your competitor’s? To know your customer, you can check credit card records or ask your customer to complete a simple contact form with name, address, age, gender, etc. when they purchase a product.

[ninja_form id=4]

Does Your Website Give Enough Contact Information?

When you sell from a website, a customer can buy your products 24 hrs a day and also your customers may be from other states that are thousands of miles away. Always provide contact information, preferably on every page of your website, complete with mailing address, telephone number and an email address that you check often.

People may need to contact you about sales, general information or technical problems on your site. Also have your email forwarded to another email address if you do not check your website mailbox often. When customer wants to buy online provide enough options like credit card, PayPal or other online payment service.

In the field of search engine optimization (SEO), writing a strong homepage that will rank high in the engines and will read well for your site visitors can sometimes present a challenge, even to some seasoned SEO professionals. Once you have clearly identified your exact keywords and key phrases, the exact location on your homepage where you will place those carefully researched keywords will have a drastic impact in the end results of your homepage optimization.

One thing we keep hearing most people say is that they don’t want to change the looks or even more, the wording on their homepage. Understandably, some of them went to great lengths and invested either a lot of time and/or money to make it the best it can be. Being the best for your site visitors is one thing. But is it the best it can be for the search engines, in terms of how your site will rank?

If you need powerful rankings in the major search engines and at the same time you want to successfully convert your visitors and prospects into real buyers, it’s important to effectively write your homepage the proper way the first time! You should always remember that a powerfully optimized homepage pleases both the search engines and your prospects.

If randomly inserting keywords and key phrases into your old homepage, you might run the risk of getting good rankings, but at the same time it might jeopardize your marketing flow. That is a mistake nobody would ever want to do with their homepage.

Even today, there are still some people that will say you can edit your homepage for key phrases, without re-writing the whole page. There are important reasons why that strategy might not work.

The Home Page

Your homepage is the most important page on your web site. If you concentrate your most important keywords and key phrases in your homepage many times, the search engines will surely notice and index it accordingly. But will it still read easily and will the sentences flow freely to your real human visitors? There are some good chances that it might not. As a primer, having just 40 or 50 words on your homepage will not deliver the message effectively. To be powerful and effective, a homepage needs at least 300 to 400 words for maximum search engine throughput and effectiveness.

One way to do that is to increase your word count with more value-added content. This often means rewriting your whole homepage all over again. The main reason to this is you will probably never have enough room to skillfully work your important keywords and key phrases into the body text of your homepage. This may not please your boss or marketing department, but a full re-write is often necessary and highly advisable to achieve high rankings in the engines, while at the same time having a homepage that will please your site visitors and convert a good proportion of them into real buyers.

The Acid Test

Here is the acid test that will prove what we just said is right: Carefully examine the body text of your existing homepage. Then, attempt to insert three to five different keywords and key phrases three to four times each, somewhere within the actual body of your existing page. In doing that, chances are you will end

up with a homepage that is next to impossible to understand and read.

One mistake some people do is to force their prospects to wade through endless key phrase lists or paragraphs, in an attempt to describe their features and benefits. The other reason they do that is in trying to please the search engines at the same time. Writing a powerful and effective homepage around carefully defined keywords and

key phrases are a sure way you can drive targeted traffic to your web site and keep them there once you do.

If some people still say re-writing a homepage takes too much time and costs too much money, think of the cost of losing prospective clients and the real cost of lost sales and lost opportunities. In the end, writing a strong homepage that will achieve all your desired goals will largely justify your time invested and the efforts you will have placed in the re-writing of your homepage.

This section presents a recommended layout for your homepage in order to make it as search engine friendly as possible. This is where you set the theme of your site.

Let’s suppose the primary focus of your site is about online education. You also have secondary content that is there as alternative content for those not interested online education. There is also other content that you would like to share with your visitors. For example, this might include book reviews, humor, and links.

The top of your homepage, as discussed earlier is the most important. This is where you set the keywords and theme for the most important part of your site, the thing you really want to be found for.

Step By Step Page Optimization

Starting at the top of your index/home page something like this: (After your logo or header graphic)

  1. A heading tag that includes a keyword(s) or keyword phrases. A heading tag is bigger and bolder text than normal body text, so a search engine places more importance on it because you emphasize it.
  1. Heading sizes range from h1 – h6 with h1 being the largest text. If you learn to use just a little Cascading Style Sheet code you can control the size of your headings. You could set an h1 sized heading to be only slightly larger than your normal text if you choose, and the search engine will still see it as an important heading.
  1. Next would be an introduction that describes your main theme. This would include several of your top keywords and keyword phrases. Repeat your top 1 or 2 keywords once or twice, include other keyword search terms too, but make it read in sentences that makes sense to your visitors.
  1. A second paragraph could be added that’s more specific on other words related to online education.
  1. Next you could put smaller heading like h2.
  1. Then you’d list the links to your pages, and ideally have a brief description of each link using keywords and keyword phrases in the text. You also want to have several pages of quality content to link to. Repeat this procedure for all your next links.
  1. Next you might include a closing, keyword rich paragraph. More is not necessarily better when it comes to keywords, at least after a certain point. Writing ‘online education’ fifty times across your page would probably result in you being caught for trying to cheat. Ideally, somewhere from 3% – 4% of your page text would be keywords. The percentage changes often and is different at each search engine. If the content is really big and you can go higher if it makes sense and isn’t redundant.
  1. Finally, you can list your secondary content of book reviews, humor, and links. Skip the descriptions if they aren’t necessary, or they may water down your theme too much. If you must include descriptions for these non-theme related links, keep them short and sweet. You also might include all the other site sections as simply a link to another index that lists them all. You could call it Entertainment, Miscellaneous, or whatever.

These can be sub-indexes that can be optimized toward their own theme, which is the ideal way to go.

Now you’ve set the all important top of your page up with a strong theme. So far so good, but this isn’t the only way you can create a strong theme so don’t be compelled into following this exact formula. This was just an example to show you one way to set up a strong site theme. Use your imagination, you many come up with an even better way.

One Site – One Theme

It’s important to note that you shouldn’t try to optimize your home page for more than one theme. They just end up weakening each other’s strength when you do that. By using simple links to your alternative content, a link to your humor page can get folks where they want to go, and then you can write your humor page as a secondary “homepage” optimized towards a humor theme. In the end, each page should be optimized for search engines for the main topic of that page or site section.

Search engine optimization is made up of many simple techniques that work together to create a comprehensive overall strategy. This combination of techniques is greater as a whole than the sum of the parts. While you can skip any small technique that is a part of the overall strategy, it will subtract from the edge you’d gain by employing all the tactics.

Affiliate Sites & Dynamic URLs

In affiliate programs, sites that send you traffic and visitors, have to be paid on the basis of per click or other parameters (such as number of pages visited on your site, duration spent, transactions etc). Most common contractual understanding revolves around payment per click or click through. Affiliates use tracking software that monitors such clicks using a redirection measurement system. The validity of affiliate programs in boosting your link analysis is doubtful. Nevertheless, it is felt that it does not actually do any harm. It does provide you visitors, and that is important.

In the case of some search engines re-directs may even count in favor of your link analysis. Use affiliate programs, but this is not a major strategy for optimization.

Several pages in e-commerce and other functional sites are generated dynamically and have ‘?’ or ‘&’ sign in their dynamic URLs. These signs separate the CGI variables. While Google will crawl these pages, many other engines will not. One inconvenient solution is to develop static equivalent of the dynamic pages and have them on your site.

Another way to avoid such dynamic URLs is to rewrite these URLs using a syntax that is accepted by the crawler and also understood as equivalent to the dynamic URL by the application server. The Amazon site shows dynamic URLs in such syntax. If you are using Apache web server, you can use Apache rewrite rules to enable this conversion.

One good tip is that you should prepare a crawler page (or pages) and submit this to the search engines. This page should have no text or content except for links to all the important pages that you wished to be crawled.

When the spider reaches this page it would crawl all the links and would record all the desired pages into its index. You can also break up the main crawler page into several smaller pages if the size becomes too large. The crawler shall not reject smaller pages, whereas larger pages may get bypassed if the crawler finds them too slow to be spidered.

You do not have to be concerned that the result may throw up this ‘site- map’ page and would disappoint the visitor. This will not happen, as the ‘site-map’ has no searchable content and will not get included in the results, rather all other pages would.

Search Engine Optimisation Picture

Page Size Can Be A Factor

We have written above that the spiders may bypass long and ‘difficult’ pages. They would have their own time-out characteristics or other controls that help them come unstuck from such pages. So you do not want to have such a page become your ‘gateway’ page.

How many Pages To Submit?

You do not have to submit all the pages of your site. As stated earlier, many sites have restrictions on the number of pages you submit. A key page or a page that has links to many inner pages is ideal, but you must submit some inner pages. This insures that even if the first page is missed, the crawler does get to access other pages and all the important pages through them.

Submit your key 3 to 4 pages at least. Choose the ones that have the most relevant content and keywords to suit your target search string and verify that they link to other pages properly.

Should You Use Frames?

Many websites make use of frames on their web pages. In some cases, more than two frames would be used on a single web page. The reason why most websites use frames is because each frame’s content has a different source. A master page known as a ‘frameset’ controls the process of clubbing content from different sources into a single web page. Such frames make it easier for webmasters to club multiple sources into a single web page. This, however, has a huge disadvantage when it comes to Search Engines.

Some of the older Search Engines do not have the capability to read content from frames. These only crawl through the frameset instead of all the web pages. Consequently, web pages with multiple frames are ignored by the spider. There are certain tags known as ‘NOFRAMES’ (Information ignored by frames capable browser) that can be inserted in the HTML of these web pages. Spiders are able to read information within the NOFRAMES tags. Thus, Search Engines only see the Frameset. Moreover, there cannot be any links to other web pages in the NOFRAMES blocks. That means the search engines won’t crawl past the frameset, thus ignoring all the content rich web pages that are controlled by the frameset.

Hence, it is always advisable to have web pages without frames as these could easily make your website invisible to Search Engines.

Making Frames Visible To Search Engines

We discussed earlier the prominence of frames based websites. Many amateur web designers do not understand the drastic effects frames can have on search engine visibility. Such ignorance is augmented by the fact that some Search Engines such as Google and Ask.com are actually frames capable. Ask.com

spiders can crawl through frames and index all web pages of a website. However, this is only true for a few Search Engines.

The best solution as stated above is to avoid frames all together. If you still decide to use frames another remedy to this problem is using Javascript. Javascript can be added anywhere and is visible to Search Engines. These would enable spiders to crawl to other web pages, even if they do not recognize frames.

With a little trial and error, you can make your frame sites accessible to both types of search engines.

STOP Words

Stop words are common words that are ignored by search engines at the time of searching a key phrase. This is done in order to save space on their server, and also to accelerate the search process.

When a search is conducted in a search engine, it will exclude the stop words from the search query, and will use the query by replacing all the stop words with a marker. A marker is a symbol that is substituted with the stop words. The intention is to save space. This way, the search engines are able to save more web pages in that extra space, as well as retain the relevancy of the search query.

Besides, omitting a few words also speeds up the search process. For instance, if a query consists of three words, the Search Engine would generally make three runs for each of the words and display the listings. However, if one of the words is such that omitting it does not make a difference to search results, it can be excluded from the query and consequently the search process becomes faster. Some commonly excluded ‘stop words’ are: after, also, an, and, as, at, be, because, before, between, but, before, for, however, from, if, in, into, of, or, other, out, since, such, than, that, the, these, there, this, those, to, under, upon, when, where, whether, which, with, within, without

Image Alt Tag Descriptions

Search engines are unable to view graphics or distinguish text that might be contained within them. For this reason, most engines will read the content of the image ALT tags to determine the purpose of a graphic. By taking the time to craft relevant, yet keyword rich ALT tags for the images on your web site, you increase the keyword density of your site.

Although many search engines read and index the text contained within ALT tags, it’s important NOT to go overboard in using these tags as part of your SEO campaign. Most engines will not give this text any more weight than the text within the body of your site.

Invisible & Tiny Text

Invisible text is content on a web site that is coded in a manner that makes it invisible to human visitors, but readable by search engine spiders. This is done in order to artificially inflate the keyword density of a web site without affecting the visual appearance of it.

Hidden text is a recognized spam tactic and nearly all of the major search engines recognize and penalize sites that use this tactic.

This is the technique of placing text on a page in a small font size. Pages that are predominantly heavy in tiny text may be dismissed as spam. Or, the tiny text may not be indexed. As a general guideline, try to avoid pages where the font size is predominantly smaller than normal. Make sure that you’re not spamming the engine by using keyword after keyword in a very small font size. Your tiny text may be a copyright notice at the very bottom of the page, or even your contact information. If so, that’s fine.

Keyword Stuffing & Spamming

Important keywords and descriptions should be used in your content in visible Meta tags and you should choose the words carefully and position them near the top and have proper frequency for such words. However, it is very important to adopt moderation in this. Keyword stuffing or spamming is a No-No today. Most search engine algorithms can spot this, bypass the spam and some may even penalize it.

Dynamic URLs

Several pages in e-commerce and other functional sites are generated dynamically and have? or & sign in their dynamic URLs.

Re-Direct Pages

Sometimes pages have a Meta refresh tag that redirects any visitor automatically to another page. Some search engines refuse to index a page that has a high refresh rate. The meta refresh tag however does not affect Google.

Image Maps Without ALT Text

Avoid image maps without text or with links. Image maps should have alt text (as also required under the American Disabilities Act, for public websites) and the home page should not have images as links. Instead HTML links should be used. This is because search engines would not read image links and the linked pages may not get crawled.

There are some engines whose spiders won’t work with frames on your site.

A web page that is built using frames is actually a combination of content from separate ‘pages’ that have been blended into a single page through a

„frameset‟ instruction page. The frameset page does not have any content or links that would have promoted spidering. The frameset page could block the spider’s movement. The workaround is by placing a summary of the page content and relevant description in the frameset page and also by placing a link to the home page on it.

When you use tables on the key pages and if some columns have descriptions while others have numbers, it is possible that this may push your keywords down the page. Search engines break up the table and read them for the content the columns have. The first column is read first, then the next and so on. Thus if the first column had numbers, and the next one had useful descriptions, the positioning of these descriptions will suffer. The strategy is to avoid using such tables near the top of the key pages. Large sections of Java scripts also will have the same effect on the search engines. The HTML part will be pushed down. Thus again, place your long Java scripts lower down on key pages.

Link Spamming

Realizing the importance of links and link analysis in search engine results, several link farms and Free for All sites have appeared that offer to provide links to your site. This is also referred to as link spamming. Most search engines are smarter to this obvious tactic and know how to spot this. Such FFA sites, as they are known, do not provide link quality or link context, two factors that are important in link analysis. Thus the correct strategy is to avoid link spamming and not get carried away by what seems to be too simple a solution.

What Should You Do Now?

It is worth cataloging the basic principles that will increase website traffic and search engine rankings.

    • Create a site with valuable content, products or services.
    • Place primary and secondary keywords within the first paragraph in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.
    • Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers.
    • Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
    • Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
    • Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.
    • Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
    • Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
    • Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.
    • Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, discount coupons etc.
    • Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.
    • When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.
    • When unsure, hire professionals. Though it may seem costly, it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website that has no visits.
    • Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool, just like your real store treat it with the same seriousness and keep it updated.

Why Use Social Media Marketing Tips For Your Small Business

Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter are the new trend of the internet. It opened new possibilities to communication and it improved the way people connect and share. Think of it as an online ground where people can meet and interact electronically.

But as you know, business thrives where people thrives. And having realized the large number of people that login to social media sites on a daily basis, internet marketers found a new marketing channel for their online businesses.

Today, social media sites are no longer just an ingenious way for people to meet, connect and share. It is now also one of the most powerful advertising tools which businessmen can use to connect to their targeted market niche.

However, it is noteworthy that social media marketing is like a double- edged sword – it is something that needs to be wielded correctly. In the hands of a skilled marketer, it is an effective sales tool. But in the hands of an amateur, it can turn success into demise.

So to help you avoid the pitfalls of social media marketing, we made a list of 200 tips that will guide you to the proper use of social media sites. So read on and learn how you can turn social media sites into an effective marketing tool.

Which social media site’s to use

  1. Choose a social media site that is popular in your area

Of course, you want people to view your social media site, especially your target market niche. However, there are social media sites that are popular in some countries but not in others. For instance, it appears that Facebook is more widely used in Asian countries while Western countries are more likely to be active on Twitter.

  1. Consider using multiple social media sites

If you live in a place wherein there are several social media sites that are in use, perhaps you can sign up an account on all those social media sites. This way, you will be able to reach more people.

Getting started with a social media site

  1. Make a draft plan of the contents first

Getting started without a plan can lead to a messy start. This will not be good for your company image. So before you make your social media account available, make sure that you planned for its contents and design first.

  1. Come up with an editorial calendar.

You may have plenty of things you want to share and say. But if you post all of them at the same, people will get confused. Also, you will quickly run out of things to share in the future. So make a timeline and plan which things you want to post first and which ones should follow in a chronological order.

  1. Know your target market niche

There are plenty of people that join social media sites. However, you do not really want to reach to all of them. You need to focus on a group of people which are ‘potential customers’. Know who they are.

  1. Check for a possibly existing account with a similar name.

You do not want people to confuse you for another organization, group, or individual.

You do not know how these other accounts are behaving and anything they do might have implications on your company’s image.

  1. Try using checkusernames.com to create a unique moniker.

If you found out that there are already existing accounts with a similar name or a mockingly similar name, you can go to checkusernames.com to help you come up with an alternative.

  1. Know how to lure in the people in your target market niche

Do you already have a clear vision of who your target market niche is? The next thing you need to figure out is how you can lure them in. You need to make a research on the things that interest them. For example, if your products are cosmetics and your target market niche are women, then perhaps some video content about makeup tricks will lure them in.

  1. Ready high quality graphics and Photoshop edited photos

Sometimes, it is not the content but the appearance. What really draws some people into a social media profile is the looks of it. You can make your profile page look more attractive by using pictures, photographs, and images.

  1. Ready high quality short articles, comments, posts

After luring them in with flamboyant graphics and attractive page design, your people will start looking for content. If they find nothing, they will leave. For some juicy content, you can hire people to write short articles, comments, and posts.

[ninja_form id=4]
  1. Make sure that you have the resources to regularly maintain a social media account

Yes, it is free to sign up to Facebook and Twitter. But you will need to hire graphics artists, video editors, content writers, and maintenance crew. And if you need to advertise, you will probably need to pay these social media sites. Make sure that you have a budget for it.

  1. Check to see if having a social media account will really be of help to your company or if it will just be a liability

There are a lot benefits in having a social media account for your company. But there are also dangers. You need to analyze if you can take these risks head on.

  1. Know the dangers and risks of having a social media account and see if it is worth it.

Simple ways on keeping subscribers glued to your account

  1. Keep your pages looking beautiful and/or professional.

You may need to hire people to do this for you. This is important because if your social media profile looks shabby, people will probably not have a very good impression of your company.

  1. Sport a page design that corresponds to the nature of your company.

You cannot just decide on what design to use based on your personal taste. Instead, it needs to be based on the nature of your services/products. For example, if your products are for children, your page should look fun and colorful.

  1. Regularly post new comments and news. If you do not post regularly, your subscribers will think that your company is not active and is slacking off. To avoid this, you need to post news and comments regularly.
  1. Always respond to questions if possible. Avoid ignoring your subscribers.

People will certainly ask questions. You should provide a response if you can. This is one way to show hospitability and people will appreciate it.

  1. Do not always use just words. You can use multimedia once in a while.

If all your announcements are just words and sentences, it will soon get boring no matter how interesting your posts are. So once in a while, try to convey what you want to say through videos, images, and presentations.

  1. Try sporting several design schemes from time to time

One design theme throughout the year is too boring. It will also give people the impression that you lack resources, so try sporting a new look for your page from time to time. One good tip is to follow the changes of season (summer look, winter look) or you can also follow the coming of holidays (Christmas look, Halloween look).

  1. Just a logo is not enough. Try uploading more photos related to your company.

Some companies only upload their company logo. This is boring. You should post more photos about your company.

  1. Always upload photos of recent events that involved your company.

If your company recently hosted or attended an event, you should post photographs of it. This way, people will see that your company is active.

  1. Do poll questions once in a while. Keep it exciting.

Studies show that people like answering quick poll questions on social media sites. Try doing it once in a while to entertain your subscribers. But keep it related to your business. For example, if you are in the fashion industry, maybe you can make a poll of which among a list of artists is more fashionable in their opinion.

  1. Post updates about new promos that your company offers.

Your social media profile is one good channel to announce promos and events that your company hosts. Also, it will keep your subscribers checking your profile.

Use multimedia content to your advantage when Social Media Marketing

  1. Use only high quality media content. Do not settle for mediocre quality.

The quality of the media content you upload will have a huge impact on your company’s image. Make sure that you only use high quality ones.

  1. Instead of uploading videos to the actual social media account, considering using links instead.

Some social media sites limit how many megabytes of file you can upload. So instead of uploading a video to the blog site, consider uploading them to Youtube first and link the Youtube URL to your blog site.

  1. Choose multimedia designs that suit your targeted market niche.

The design scheme of the multimedia contents you upload should match the nature of your business.

  1. Always check for possible mistakes before uploading so as to maintain credibility.

Especially if you hired people to make the video or graphics for you, it will be necessary that you check it for errors first before you upload it.

  1. Know the upload limitations of your social media of choice.

Facebook for example limits how many megabyte of file you can upload. Know these limits so you can plan how much multimedia file you can use to improve the look of your page.

  1. Remove oldest multimedia uploads to free up your upload limit.

If you ran out of storage space and you need to upload a new file, perhaps there are some previously uploaded media files that are no longer needed and may already be deleted.

Facebook Logo
  1. Know which uploads should never be removed to matter what.

Not all multimedia you previously uploaded may be removed. Some need to stay for your subscribers to see. For example, if you uploaded a video that features the product specs of your main product, you should probably keep that video file for new subscribers to see.

  1. HD quality is good but do not always use it.

Your subscribers will appreciate an HD quality video upload. But it will take a lot of space. Even if you use Youtube, an HD file will take longer to load on slower connections.

  1. The dimension of photographs does not always have to be big in order to be high quality.

There is this connotation that the higher the pixels, the better the quality and clarity. But it is not always the case. It all depends on the editing. A 640×480 photo may look clearer than a 1024×720 photo.

Tips on using language

  1. Decide on a language to use.

English is considered the international language. But there are still plenty of people who cannot understand English. If your target is a small locality, maybe you can use their language instead.

  1. Consider duplicate pages that are translated to other languages.

If you are targeting a market niche that is composed of people from different countries and ethnic backgrounds, perhaps you can make several accounts that use a specific language.

  1. Use appropriate tone and language that suits your targeted market niche.

For children’s toys, you should sound fun. For fashion items, you should sound trendy. For serious stuff, you should sound corporate.

  1. Be precise and brief in your message

People hate to read lengthy messages. Some of them are also busy. So keep you posts and comments brief and concise.

  1. Always double check spelling and grammar before posting.

Grammatical errors and typos can tarnish your company image. People will think that your posts are done in a hurry with no regard for quality.

How to use YouTube effectively in your Social Media Strategy

  1. Decide on the appropriate comment sharing settings of your Youtube account.

You can decide if you want to block other users from posting comments on your videos and on your profile page. Do this to prevent possibly derogative comments.

  1. Decide on whether to use the ‘Like’ and ‘Dislike’ button or not.

Dislikes have an effect on potential customers. If you think you video will get a lot of dislikes, you can turn this option off.

  1. Learn how to use related tags.

If you want people to easily find your uploaded video on Youtube, you should use tags which people are likely to use when typing keywords in the search bar. For computer products for examples, tags like iPad, laptop, internet, Intel, and such should be used.

  1. Check comments regularly

If you decided to allow comments, you should check them regularly so you can deal with derogative and damaging comments as soon as possible.

  1. Use the ‘delete comment’ option sparingly

In Youtube, a comment is not completely removed. The username of the person who posted it will still be there and with a note “Deleted comment”. People will wonder why you deleted a comment. So use it sparingly.

  1. Using courteous and well-informed replies instead of deleting.

Instead of deleting, you can reply to derogative messages instead. But do not be rude. Simply defend in a very convincing and informed manner. Make sure that readers will side with you because of the way you answered.

  1. Customize your page and use your logo for better credibility.

Using the company logo adds credibility. And customizing your page makes it look more authentic.

  1. Upload only high quality videos.

Videos do not have to be in HD to be high quality and clear. It just needs to be properly done and edited. All videos should be high quality because it will affect the image of your company.

  1. Screen videos for possibly offensive elements.

People on Youtube can be pretty harsh. Make sure that all videos you upload are free of potentially offensive contents.

  1. Take time to learn the policies of Youtube. It is damaging to the reputation of your company if your account gets suspended. People will wonder why it happened. So take time to read Youtube’s policies.
  1. Update users about increase in subscribers

Others usually update about their first 1000, 5000, 10,000 and 100,000 subscribers. Make these updates so your subscribers can see that your page is moving forward.

Expanding the reach of your social media account is vital to be successful

  1. Advertise your social media account.

The purpose of your social media account is to advertise. However, a social media account is an advertisement tool that also needs to be advertised. Tell people to visit your social media account.

  1. Always include your social media URL to your other forms of advertisement.

If you advertise on magazines, television, and radio, you need to make sure that your social media account is mentioned. A small note saying “Visit us on Facebook” should be sufficient.

  1. Learn to use SEO techniques

When making posts and uploading articles to your blog site, make sure that they are made with SEO. This will make your social media account easier to find via search engines.

  1. Contribute SEO articles to websites like www.ezinearticles.com.

By contributing SEO articles to these sites, you are making your social media page easier to find on the internet.

  1. Use a URL name that corresponds to the main keyword which best describes your service/product offering or your company.

You can change how your URL appears. For example, if your company name is Solemn Foods, you can change your Facebook URL to www.facebook.com/solemnfoods

  1. Get affiliated with other groups which are related to your market niche.

By becoming affiliates of other groups that are related to your field, you are exposing your page to more potential viewers. For example, if you are selling cosmetics, you should probably become affiliated with pages about makeup tutorial, makeup tips, latest makeup trends, and such.

  1. Use follow buttons

These are buttons which you can post elsewhere on the internet. This way, users can like content you posted in your Facebook account actually logging in to Facebook or opening another window.

  1. Use share/link buttons.

Have affiliate sites to post a link that will direct users to your blog site. This is one reason why it is important to have many affiliates on the internet. It will help you have more subscribers.

  1. Make use of the old school method called email marketing.

Yes, it is old. But it is still effective. Send potential leads an email that contains a link and/or follow button that will connect them to your blog page.

  1. Propose a guest post on established and influential blogs – the big names ideally.

Ask other influential groups to allow you to make a post on their page. And on that post, make sure to include a link that will direct users to your blog page.

  1. Your subscription buttons should be done via RSS. This allows users to see the latest updates on your blog page.

Outsourcing Social Media work and tasks

  1. Make sure the account holder you hire knows your ideals and standards.

You may choose to hire a person to manage and maintain your blog page. But they should know your standards. They should understand how you want to run things.

  1. Have someone check the site throughout the day and night.

You do not know when a user might have posted something derogatory on your page. Therefore, it is important that you have someone check your blog page from time to time to filter out such comments.

  1. Set limits on how much they can change.

People you hire to manage your blog page should have limitations. There are things that they should not touch or change. Be clear in this.

  1. Authorize different actions to different people if necessary.

For better results, you can hire someone who manages events, promos, news, and such. You should also have a person for articles, videos, graphics, and page design.

  1. You can hire people to do the graphics. Photoshop is not easy. If you need professional results, hire someone to do it for you.
  1. You can hire people to do the videos.

There are several video maker software available out there. If you are not confident, do not attempt to make your own. It will only lead to low quality output.

  1. You can hire people to do the short articles.

This is now easy to find. You can now hire ghost writers to write articles and even eBooks for you.

Dealing with trolling, defamation, and other derogatory comments from users

  1. Check for possibly derogatory messages all the time.

Check your page all the time, or at least have someone do it for you. You need to deal with negative comments as soon as possible before they affect the opinion of other subscribers.

  1. Avoid the domino effect of negative comments. When one person makes a negative comment, it is possible that others will sympathize. Then it can become a string of negative comments form more users. End it before this happens. Delete the root cause.
  1. Do not leave a serious question hanging unanswered for too long.

Some questions, if unanswered, can lead users to doubt your company’s credibility (e.g. the product I bought is lasted only a month, can I have it replaced?). Questions like this one should be answered immediately.

  1. Maintain a professional tone when replying to possibly derogative comments.

Sometimes, you need to answer derogatory questions to set things straight, so other users will know the truth. But when doing so, you should avoid being rudely defensive. You should always maintain a professional tone. Other users will see this and appreciate it.

  1. Know which messages should be left unanswered. You do not need to respond to every question.

Using Facebook Correctly

  1. Open a group account, not a personal account.

There are two types of account you can open on Facebook. For social media marketing, you should open a group account instead of a personal account. Its features are designed for marketing.

  1. Get your first 25 likes.

A group account will only have access to all its features once it already gathers 25 likes from other users.

  1. Consider getting a paid advertisement service from Facebook.

Facebook offers a tool that will make your page appear on the advertisement section of other Facebook users. You can also set this option to appear only on a select market niche (age filters, address filter, gender filter, etc.). But this is a paid feature.

  1. Post things that your subscribers will feel like sharing.

If one of your subscribers shares a post from your page, it will be available in their profile page. This way, it will be exposed to everyone in the friendliest of that person. This will extend the reach of your social media account.

  1. Like pages or groups which are in some way connected to your market niche.

By liking pages from other groups, you are exposing yourself to the subscribers of those pages.

  1. Like pages or groups which are frequented by your target customers.

Go to pages which your target customers might frequent. For example, if your target customers are women, you might find them fashion pages. Like those pages and perhaps post a comment to those pages to help them find you.

  1. Get help from people you know who also have Facebook accounts.

The start is the difficult part. Ask people you know to like your page. You can also ask them to share the contents of your page. Their friends can also help out.

  1. Include a photo album which shows the faces of your company staffs.

Studies show that people trust online organizations more if they can see faces. If there is no face, it is as if the organization is hiding something.

  1. Keep the photo albums organized according to event and date.

People like to browse photos. But it is annoying if different photos are just mixed together. Make sure that you organize them in albums.

  1. Advertise your Facebook account on your other social media account.

If you have a Twitter account for example, post a Tweet inviting your followers to check out your Facebook page as well.

  1. Use only one account.

This is to prevent confusion. If your services and or products are not widely varied, consider getting only one Facebook account.

  1. Use several accounts only if your company has varied sectors.

For example, if your company sells different stuff (e.g. clothes, food, toys), you should probably have a separate account or separate page for each genre.

  1. Use your Facebook account to connect with people you meet on business trips and meetings.

If you met possible affiliates on meetings and business trips, you can use your company’s Facebook account to stay connected with them.

  1. Your Facebook posts should be in harmony with your Twitter posts, if you have both.

Contradicting posts on your Twitter and Facebook account will be seen as an inconsistency. Subscribers might question how your company runs things.

  1. Update users about increase in subscribers.

Tell people that your number of subscribers is growing! This will give the impression that your company is moving forward.

Twitter Social Account & Use

  1. Edit the URL name and use a main keyword which best describes your company.

From the default URL assigned to your profile by Twitter, edit it into something like www.twitter.com/YouCompanyNameHere.

  1. Regularly post news and events.

If you leave your Twitter account unattended, people will stop following you. And even if they do not unfollow you, they might stop checking your posts.

  1. Follow groups, organizations, companies, and/or people which you believe are connected to your company in some way.

Follow twitter accounts that are related to the nature of your business. This will increase your exposure to more Twitter users.

  1. Avoid posting Tweets on other’s profile. This is to maintain a professional attitude. Remember, this is a company account not a personal account.
  1. Avoid using your company Twitter account for personal business.

If you like a certain celebrity or you like to make comments about some current events that are completely unrelated to your business, you should follow them using your own personal account. Business and personal life should not be mixed together.

  1. Avoid conveying personal feelings and thoughts via your company Twitter account.

Tweets about your bath time, the breakfast you had, the new clothes you bought, and your quarrel with your friends do not belong in your company Twitter.

  1. Advertise your Twitter account on your other Social media account.

If you have a Facebook account, tell your Facebook subscribers that you also have a Twitter account. This way, both your accounts will show more subscribers.

  1. Hashtags are not very effective.

If you like doing this trick, well save it. A recent study shows that posts that used hashtags are actually 5% less efficient at attracting users.

  1. Do not follow more people than the number of people following you.

If you are following more people than the number of people of following you, it will make you look desperate. This is not good for your company image. You must exercise some degree of self-importance.

  1. Use geo-location to find local target niche.

This feature is very useful for internet marketing. It will help you locate your target customers better.

  1. Focus more on your advocates than your influencers.

Your influencers are only likely to mention you once or twice. After which, you are not really connected with them. But advocates are different. They are potentially long term partners with long term benefits. Invest time on them.

  1. Your Tweets should be in harmony with your Facebook posts, if you have both.

Make sure that company news, events, and promos you Tweet are the same with those you post on your Facebook account.

  1. Update users about increase in followers.

Be safe while using Social Media For Your Marketing

  1. Be transparent while exercising caution.

Your subscribers will like it if you are transparent. They will feel connected with you. But you must limit how much information you withhold.

  1. Only withhold the physical address or office address of the company itself.

You are not obliged nor is it safe to tell your subscribers your personal address or the personal address of your employees. Only tell them the address of the company itself.

  1. Only withhold the company contact number, email, fax, etc.

Only the company contact information should be advertised. Those of the employees should not be disclosed to protect their privacy.

  1. Avoid heated conversation.

Not only is it unprofessional, but it will not leave a good impression on your subscribers.

  1. Keep a record of possibly threatening comments from users. If a post includes threats or anything of the same degree, you should keep a record of it. A print screen will do.
  1. Never use a password that is easy to guess.

You do not know what hackers might do to your account. Make sure that your password is something that cannot be guessed.

  1. Never withhold the email address that is used to register the social media account.

This may all be that a hacker needs to hack into a Facebook or a Twitter account. It should be kept private.

  1. Use a registration email that is different from the company email.

A hacker will normally attempt to use the official company email thinking that it is used to open your company’s Facebook or Twitter account.

  1. Never leave the account unattended in any computer.
  2. Do not forget to uncheck the ‘Keep Me logged’ in button.

Some people forget to un-check this box. As a result, their account gets hacked by the next person who will use the computer. Good thing if it is found by a good person.

  1. Avoid logging in to public computers

Even if you un-check the Keep Me Logged in button, there still ways for hackers to get your username and password. A simple key-logger program will do the trick.

  1. If you must login using a public computer or a public network, try using the onscreen QWERTY board when keying in the username and password.

Key-logger programs follow the keystrokes that you make. They cannot read passwords and usernames that are inputted using an onscreen qwerty keyboard. The downside is that people behind you will see which characters you clicked.

  1. Change the password if you believe it has been compromised.
  2. Remove arguments between users.

Sometimes, the dispute may not be between you and a user but among users themselves. Remove these as soon as possible. Block them if necessary.

  1. Set a rules and conditions page.

Some people may not exactly follow. But if you ban them, they will not be able to say that they were not warned.

Tips on involvements you should avoid

  1. Avoid ‘liking’, ‘following’ or getting linked in any way to celebrities.

This is part of professionalism. Business is business and involvement with Hollywood seems like a personal thing to do unless the celebrity you will feature is somehow linked to your business.

  1. Avoid ‘liking’, ‘following’ or getting linked in any way to politicians.

People are always divided in their political views. You could lose possible customers if you favor politicians and political decisions which they do not approve of.

  1. Avoid voicing opinions on controversial matters.

Other than politics, there are other events that can divide the opinion of people. Avoid making statements about such matters.

  1. Avoid using your company’s social media account to post comments that convey your personal feelings and thoughts.

You may have opinions about current events. But you should avoid making them on your company’s social media account.

  1. Avoid uploading contents that are not related to your market, unless it is part of your marketing strategy.

Sometimes, it might be necessary to add some fun stuff as a form of entertainment. But do not make it a hobby.

  1. Avoid media contents which are potentially offensive to any group or people.

Racism is especially a sensitive topic. Avoid making any comment, even a commercial joke, because people are not likely to take it lightly.

  1. Avoid jokes, unless they are completely inoffensive. Tips on maintaining/improving the credibility of your social media account
  2. If your company has an official webpage, make sure to mention your social media account in your official webpage.

This is one way of encouraging people to subscribe to your social media account. If you get them to subscribe to you, you are also gaining access to the people in their friendlist.

  1. Do forget to use your company logo in your social media account.
  2. Post photos of company events – the kinds which the public could not possibly have had access to.

Random photos like dinners, tours, and even photos in airports are the kinds of photos that others could not have access to. This way, people will know that your social media account is authentic and is the real thing.

  1. Make sure your social media announcements correspond to the announcements your official webpage.

If you are also making announcements on your official webpage, they should be the same with the details of the announcements you make on your social media account.

  1. Be careful about making statements about current events.

Avoid it if possible.

People have different opinions about current events. If you favor one side,

you might incite the anger of some people.

  1. Always give your subscribers the feeling that the company is moving forward.

People will like you more if they believe that your company is moving forward. Always give this impression through the posts that you make.

  1. Always give your subscribers the feeling that your company’s social media account page is active and kicking.
  1. When mistakes happen, step up and own the mistake.

Even with a lot of precaution, it is possible that a mistake or two could slip. When this happens, just admit it and apologize. People will appreciate this better. They will see through a denial and will hate it.

  1. Act like a leader, without being cocky.

People need to feel that you are a leader – a driving force. IF you do this without being cocky, they will respect you.

  1. Always post media exposure of your company.

If your company has been featured in a magazine, a television show, or any media channel, make sure that you mention it on your social media site. Provide a link if available.

Measuring and improving the effectiveness of your social media account

  1. Analyze how many of your customers came to you through your social media account.

Run polls and surveys to know how many of your customers learned about your company through your social media account. This way, you will know if your social media venture is fruitful or not.

  1. Blog regularly for better traffic.

Making blog posts on a regular basis will keep people tuned in to your page. It will increase traffic. After all, they will not regularly check a page that rarely makes blog posts.

  1. Imagine that social media is like a story that you tell, and the characters in the story are your customers.
  1. Do not always just talk about your company. Talk about the people that subscribe to you.

If you speak about you subscribers and customers as well, they will feel that they are important and that they are involved. This will improve your relationship with them.

  1. Try other smaller scale social media sites for localized marketing.

If there is a local social media site in the area of your targeted market niche, consider opening an account there as well. This is to help you reach to more locals.

  1. Offer a mobile check-in feature if it is compatible with your business.

It is now getting popular that businesses allow their customers to order and/or check-in for services and/or products online. Offer this feature to open up to more customers.

Coming up with a good content for Social Media Post’s doesn’t need to be difficult

  1. Always stay updated about current events.

Current events may give your ideas about the future of your market. Stay updated so you are not left behind in market changes.

  1. Check the latest news in your field of business.

You need to check for current events but you need to focus more on news that involve your market niche. You can also make posts about these news events as long as you do not side with any group.

  1. Regularly check yahoo news.

The homepage of yahoo is one of the great places to find some of the juiciest and latest news. They also often feature business news.

  1. Regularly read magazines that are related to your field. Magazines can give you a lot of ideas. For example, if your business is about fashion, then you should read a lot of fashion magazines.
  1. Hire researchers if possible

Research is not an easy task, especially if it involves marketing and business. If you do not have the extra time for it, you can hire people to do it for you.

  1. Think out of the box and come up with something unique.

Try going out of your comfort zones once in a while. Think of new exciting ways to make your announcements and posts so that your subscribers are not bored.

  1. If you need to recycle content, make sure it is redone from the bottom up

Sometimes, you just really run out of a fresh new content. While recycling is discouraged, sometimes it is the only thing that could save you. But if you must do this, make sure that you make it look new and different.

  1. Ask your customers and subscribers what they want to see next.

IF you have no idea what your subscribers might like to see next, you can simplify things by asking them straight ahead. In fact, customers like it when you ask questions like: “What do you want to see next?” or “What do you want us to make for you next?”

  1. Ask your affiliates what they want you to do next.

Do not just ask your customers and subscribers. You should not forget about your affiliates, advocates, and influencers as well. Ask them.

  1. Check your previous contents and check out what might be missing.

You might think that you have already done almost everything. But check your profile again. You never know what you might discover that is missing. Tips on writing your comments and posts effectively

  1. Come up with a good title.

Sometimes, subscribers will not even try to read if they see that a post is lengthy. So what should you do? Incite their interest by starting your post with a catchy and intriguing title.

[ninja_form id=4]

  1. Always use a catchy headline.

If a title is inappropriate, then simply start the sentence with a catchy and interesting first sentence.

  1. Use the inverted triangle method of writing.

In article writing, this means that you should write your articles by including all the important information in the beginning of the article. The concentration of information is higher in the beginning and gets fewer as the article ends.

Unique ways to deliver your Social Media message to your followers

  1. Use PowerPoint presentations.

Tired of old-school paragraph posts? Then create a powerful presentation instead and add some exciting designs and animations.

  1. Use images.

You can also make a graphic art of what you want to say.

  1. Use video clips

This is just like doing a PowerPoint presentation.

  1. Use voice clips.

Try something new once in a while and convey your message through a recorded voice. This is actually a more effective marketing strategy because a voice can be more encouraging than written words.

  1. Combine all of the above.

All the tricks used above can be used at the same time. This will make for a unique and effective way of communicating with your subscribers.

  1. Use lists and bullet points.

A long paragraph is tiring to read. Make it easier for your subscribers to read by making a list instead.

  1. Use uppercase letters on important words.

This is one way to entice your subscribers to read a rather boring-looking paragraph. Highlight words like BONUS, SALE, PROMO, and such. Seeing keywords like these ones will surely catch their attention.

  1. Use double quotations as necessary.

Other than CAPS LOCK, this is another effective way to highlight an important word.

  1. Use underlines as necessary.

Underlines are also an effective highlighting element.

  1. Use highlighting if your social media blog allows this feature.

Adding a colored highlight to a word will probably make it stand out more than a caps lock, a double quote, or an underline can. Sadly, not all social media sites offer the option.

  1. Know the proper use of the opening word “ATTENTION!”

Sometimes, you can simply start a paragraph with “ATTENTION!”. Use this sparingly. And make sure that the message is really worth the opening.

  1. An occasional humor is okay.

Professionalism should be observed at all times but some humor will put a smile on the face of your readers. If they are happy, they are more likely to buy.

  1. Subscribe to newsletters of affiliates.
  2. Subscribe to newsletters of similar groups
  3. Subscribe to newsletters of competitors

You should always be looking on improving customer relationships

  1. Write about success stories of your customers

Feature examples of some of your customers who liked your service and/or product. This will invite others to avail of your product/service as well. Post how-to guides for your subscribers.

It has been proven in internet marketing that most internet users like reading how-to-guides. If you always provide some once in a while, people will keep coming back to check your page.

  1. Include guides about things to avoid. This way, your customers and subscribers will feel that you actually care about their well-being. This will be good for your business. Just make sure that the guide is related to your market niche.
  1. Post interviews with a successful client

Do not just tell stories about a successful customer and/or client. Instead, you should probably post a video of an interview. This is a lot more convincing that just plain text.

  1. Avoid recycling previous messages.

You may have no choice but to recycle content in some instances. But avoid it if at all possible. Some users will still notice that a content is recycled even after a lot of editing and changes.

  1. Avoid recycling multimedia elements. Not just words and articles, but multimedia content may also be recycled. But do so only when you have no choice. Also, you should edit it so that it is not recognizable as a recycled item.
  1. Send out important newsletters to subscribers.

Sometimes, subscribers just stop checking out your page and it is not even your fault. Maybe they just got busy for a period of time and forgot. In which case, it helps to remind them through newsletters.

  1. Always use courteous greetings, daily if possible.

On days when you have nothing to say, perhaps a simple “Good morning” and “Good evening” or “Happy lunch time” will do. You may also use greetings as an opening to any announcement. Your subscribers will like a courteous attitude.

  1. Make sure your subscribers feel that they are always up-to-date.

This is one of the advantages of making announcements and news regularly. Our subscribers will feel that they are not left out of the latest about your company.

  1. Talk about latest trends which you know your subscribers will like and love to hear about.

Dealing with competition doesn’t need to be a war, they can be a useful source of information

  1. Check the social media site of your competitor.

Who knows? Your competitor might have come up with a cool new idea to present ideas. Looking at the page of your competitor will give you more ideas which you can use together with your own original ideas.

  1. Check the official homepage of your competitor.

You can also take a look at the official webpage of your competitor to check out how they advertised their social media account.

  1. Subscribe to the newsletter of your competitor.

You can use your personal account for this. You can subscribe to the newsletters of your competitors to see what they are up to. This may also give you new ideas for your marketing strategies.

  1. Avoid making negative statements about your competitor.

Some may do this to demerit their competitors. But this is a dirty trick which many of your subscribers will recognize and hate. It will not be good for your image.

  1. If your competitor posts anything against you, avoid getting

lured into the trap answering back.

A simple defense on your part to clarify false accusations will do. But do not return the favor of insulting back. If you do, you will appear as the good guy and your competitor will appear as the bad guy. People will also like how you just let it slide.

  1. Avoid having things that are mockingly similar to that of your competitor.

You check your competitors for ideas. But do not copy what their ideas. Do not post anything similar or use any idea that is exactly the same. At least, make some changes to it and make it your own.

  1. Always be a step ahead.

You cannot always be just copying ideas from your competitors. Instead, you have to take the lead. You have to be the trendsetter.

  1. Check the number of hits your competitor’s have.

This will let you know how well your competitor is doing compared to your performance. This will tell you if you need to improve your performance more.

Financing your social media account

  1. Some social media only needs to be checked once a day.

Checking once daily may be all that your social media account needs. IF this is the case, there is no need to pay an extra just to have it checked several times a day.

  1. Check your database for currently existing multimedia content. Maybe there is no need to order new logo or graphics. Check the ones you used in your previous videos and slideshows. Maybe you can still use some of them.
  1. Supply currently existing graphics to hired multimedia artists.

It might help cut the cost if you provide artists you hire with currently existing graphics and logo.

  1. Use safe payment methods.

There is no need to expose your credit card number or your bank account number. There is also no need to expose your physical address by sending money via a courier. Instead, you can use safe payment methods like Paypal which protects your personal and account information.

  1. Check if there is someone among your employees who can do the task.

Maybe there is really no need to hire another person to do the task. Ask your employees. Maybe some of them have the skills to make multimedia content and write articles for your social media page.

  1. Check if financing your social media site is getting returns.

Maintaining a social media site might cost money and time. If it is not yielding you results, maybe it is not an effective marketing strategy for your line of business.

Making your social media account user friendly and like-able

  1. Tell the designer to use a page design that works well on smartphones.

Many people check and update their social media accounts regularly via their smartphones. So it will help if your blog page is optimized for smartphone viewing.

  1. Avoid using scripts and content that might run only on the latest software.

Some multimedia content require the latest plugins. Such multimedia contents might now be view-able to all people. So avoid using the most latest ones.

  1. Avoid making a page that might upload too slowly.

You need a good page design. However, your page designer must avoid using elements that might take time to load. Now all viewers have a good internet connection and some will not wait for a page that loads too slowly.

  1. Keep things looking neat.

It does not have to be the most stylish. What is important is that your page looks clean – nothing is out of place. Keep the information organized. Elements and contents should be arranged and grouped properly. You should make it in a way that your subscribers will find things easily.

  1. Use tabs (if possible) or divisions for different topics.

This will allow you to separate different topics and/or discussions. It will help keep your contents organized without opening multiple social media accounts.

  1. Avoid high-falutin words.

Just keep it simple. Research shows that most internet users hate high-falutin words and they prefer a simple content.

  1. Make your page easy to find.

There are many ways to do this. Using SEO and having plenty of backlinks for example will make your page easier to find on the internet. You can hire an internet marketing specialist to do this for you.

And this concludes the list of 200 tips for effective social media marketing. But of course, you should not just religiously stick to these rules. Be sensitive to the changes you see and act accordingly.

Be aware of the dangers of social media sites. Take note that many lives have been ruined because of Facebook and Twitter. Of course, these sites are not to be blamed. These things happen because of improper use of these social media sites.

With a few simple tips, you can be doing the same in no time! In this blog, we’ll walk you through the first steps every savvy digital marketer takes to ensure that they’re on target to hit all their marketing objectives. Get ready for revenue!

Remember: even if the channel you’re considering is all the rage right now, it might not fit your brand. Always make informed decisions that directly relate to your company. Otherwise, your message won’t be delivered to its intended audience and you’ll have wasted time, effort and money.

Know Your Digital Goals

The first step is clearly identifying which goals you want to achieve. Get specific. Do you want to increase brand awareness? Are you all about locking in leads? Do you want to establish a strong network of influencers that can help you be discovered? How about pushing engagement on social media?

Get Specific

A useful tool for narrowing down your goals to ensure they’re viable is the SMART mnemonic. It’s important to get specific to understand exactly what you’re working towards, and help you break down the process of hitting your targets. This is exactly what this mnemonic helps you to achieve.

  • Does the channel reach my intended audience?
  • Is the channel sustainable and affordable within my company’s marketing budget?
  • Will I be able to measure the success of the channel?
  • Does the channel allow me to express my brand’s intended message?
  • Do the channels I’m considering work together to convey my message?

Always Remember Your Goals!

Establishing a solid vision for your business is the first step to planning your digital marketing budget. Always keep your final goals in sight when organising anything for your company. When deciding which steps to take next in your business, ask yourself how they will help you achieve the goals you outlined in Step #1. This will ensure that you stay on track and prevent you from spending your budget on anything that won’t help you achieve.

Cum et essent similique. Inani propriae menandri sed in. Pericula expetendis has no,
quo populo forensibus contentiones et, nibh error in per.

Denis Robinson

As your budget progresses and evolves, continue referring to your SMART objectives. Stay focused and remember your goals – they will always inform what your next step will be!
